THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS OF HOME BUYING

So, my S.O. and I are in the process of buying a new home. I'm sure you are wondering, "why with all of the lovely improvements you've made to your condo, do you want to buy a new home?"

Is it to take advantage of the generous tax credit? er - no.

Is
it because I found the home of my dreams that I just had to have and nothing was going to hold me back? er - no again.

Is it because it was a great time to sell our condo? On the contrary - no.

Why then?
It is because we have too many damn pairs of shoes (and too many cats) and no where to put them all.

And off we went to find the perfect home, for our shoes (and cats).

Now, when I put my mind to something people are continually amazed at how focused I can become. Once the decision was made, I called my mortgage lender, was approved, got on the phone with my agent, and was looking at houses in just a few days. (It's a good thing I never wanted to have children or I would have been the first person to conceive and give birth in a week. Yes, I am THAT focused.)

We set a few home viewing records seeing as many as 10 homes a day. What were we looking for? Something that spoke to us. And some homes in fact did speak to us. They said "Run! Run as fast as you can!"

But after searching high and low, we have settled on a lovely little house in Annandale, VA. We are closing July 2.

More stories to come...
