One of my very best friend's boyfriend is a photojournalist - Chris Usher. He has been following the tragedy referred to as "Katrina". He has just published a book - "One of Us" - and is being featured in this week's Time Magazine. In addition, there are photos online. Please take a look:

I have been privileged enough to follow along with the process of creating this book. The photos and stories are very captivating. It is a time in the recent U.S. history that still seems very foreign to most people. I hope this helps to make it much more understandable.
